Ubud - Fashion Design and Culture

Ubud is a small town in the middle of Bali, around 45 mins to the north from Kuta. It is located in an agricultural zone, surrounded by multiple rice fields. Due to its location away from the famous Balinese beaches, it is a town that had to define itself by emphasizing culture and design. While you walk in the streets multiple nicely designed cafes can be observed. There are also a number of clothing stores and art galleries. Moreover, beautiful temples can be found in the middle of the town in which one can watch different performances of Balinese dances. It is a some type of small Berlin, or it reminded me of Arequipa in Peru or even Sucre in Bolivia.

What stroke me particularly is the similarity of the Balinese dance costumes to the Bolivian ones. I know it could be a bit of a extrapolation but I think it would be worthy to compare the similarities between the Bolivian beliefs and dances to the Indonesian one. The similarities I saw show me that for many things in different cultures we are quite similar.
