Doha ... the stop before Jakarta

Flying with Qatar Airlines was a positive experience: quality service and in flight entertainment. Once we landed in Doha, we were greeted with a humid air and a temperature of 35 Celsius at 6:00pm. The airport has a number of shops for luxury items and a few fast food restaurants without much taste in the decor. What strikes, however, is the number of women in burkas. It might even be a cliché to talk about it, but to me it is very striking. For some of them, there were two small holes for the eyes.

Men on the other hand tend to wear more westernized but you do see men wearing thobes. In fact, one of them while buying coffee wanted to pass to a table but instead of saying "excuse me" made a hand sign to Sophie which was very disrespectful. As if she was some type of object that needed to be moved out of his path.

This was my first impression of the Doha airport, which has among its restaurants and shops "a mosque for men." Definitely, it goes in the direction of the stereotypes.
